I was born and raised in Fargo, ND (yah, you betcha, uffda!). Originally interested in meteorology, I got hooked on radio when I started at my college radio station at North Dakota State University. My dad used to be amazed how I found a way to make a career using my “gift of gab.” My radio journey led from Fargo, to St. Cloud, MN, to Minneapolis, to Orlando, FL, and finally Kansas City. As with radio, I began my journey of faith in college. That was when I first realized my need of a savior and gave my life to Jesus. I am a single mother of 3, all were born within 4 years! So life with them has felt like a whirlwind. I never imagined being a solo parent, but it has afforded me a front row seat to experience God’s faithfulness in ways I could never have imagined. As we grow, we quickly realize that life is not always up and to the right like we may have imagined in our teen and young adult years. But through every twist and turn we can KNOW we are not alone and we ARE loved. I am passionate about sharing God’s love and mercy and grace and peace and strength and humbled to do it together each day on Life 88.5.

I was raised in a small town in Colorado with the Rocky Mountains as my backdrop along the horizon. I’ve been married nearly 13 years, and my wife and I have a beautiful daughter. I enjoy sports, my favorites being hockey, and football, I love food…especially BBQ, which is a problem for my waistline since KC has so much of it that is so delicious!! I’m a musician and serve as a drummer of the worship team at my church, love music, and am a record collector. (Or vinyl, as the kids call it these days.)

I was grateful for being raised in a small town surrounded by agriculture. But after living there for 14 years, my family uprooted from there for a rough 3-year stint in Arizona, which is where my radio career began at the age of 17. That led me back ironically enough to my birthplace of Rockford, Illinois, where my radio career was put on a 15-year hiatus. One night, I told my father how much I missed being in radio, and it was something he said that led me back to it. He said, “That would do your heart and my heart a lot of good.” I was fearful to do it, but as I stood outside that door contemplating if I should turn back, God told me, “Open that door,” and I did.

It was a very rough journey at times, but God had a plan that I wasn’t aware of. After years of self-destructive decisions, I lived out the Cochren & Co. song “Parking Lot” and met Jesus there in my car. After working 19 years in secular radio, God used my daughter to provide me with a reality check. Just a few months later, he laid the path that would lead me to Life 88.5. Thank you and blessed simply aren’t strong enough words to express gratitude to the Lord for leading me here to Him with this radio ministry to serve YOU, the Kansas City Metro community!
