Life 88.5 invites your family to join a free event at the “Sky-High Kite Festival,” co-presented by the City of Sugar Creek and the City of Independence! On Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, LaBenite Park will transform into a kite wonderland, featuring colossal kites flown by the expert team flyers at Great American Kites & Events. Life 88.5 will be on-site from 11:00 am-2:00 pm that afternoon with the birthday wheel, prizes and great music!
What’s in the Air?
Colossal Kites: Brace yourself for the sky to be adorned with colossal kites flown by the masters at Great American Kites & Events. 
Incredibly-Massive Kites: These kites aren’t just big; they redefine the meaning of “Go Fly a Kite.” Prepare to be amazed!
Picnic Vibes: Bring picnic blankets, chairs, and appetite! Relax in the park as you witness the mesmerizing kites painting the sky.
Vendors & Food Trucks: Indulge in a delightful array of treats from onsite vendors and food trucks. Small kites will also be available for purchase to take a piece of the magic home.
No Pets or Glass Containers: Please leave your furry friends and glass containers at home to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
